About the School
Somatics for the people is a school for the learning and practice of embodiment skills required for our ongoing liberation. We offer politicized courses, workshops and practice spaces on the principles of somatic trauma resolution centering the experiences of queer and trans people of the global majority (QTBIPOC).
Together, we cultivate more feltsense presence and embodied capacity so that we can create the conditions for mobilizing our autonomy, while transforming our relationships to self, community, spirit and beyond.
Held by the infinite power of nature, ancestral and spiritual practice, and informed by the body of work that is the emerging field of somatics, our school is focused on healing trauma by equipping students with the wisdom of the individual, relational and collective nervous systems.
Each offering is designed to provide theory and application that build into a personalized practice of trauma resolution. The spiralic nature of healing necessitates a set of skills and tools to turn towards and fall back into in iterative practice– – and this school is created to provide the resources and space to do so.
